AEROSMITH's 'Dream On' To Become Official Rock Song Of Massachusetts?
February 26, 2013Democratic representatives Josh Cutler of Duxbury and James Cantwell of Marshfield have filed legislation that would make AEROSMITH's 1973 classic "Dream On" Massachusetts' official state song. This comes a week after another state representative introduced a bill that would have made MODERN LOVERS' "Roadrunner" the official state rock song of Massachusetts.
"Here we've got a great South Shore band that is one of the most iconic bands in the nation, so we're sticking up for our guys," Cutler told the Quincy, Massachusetts Patriot-Ledger.
AEROSMITH returned to its old haunts in Allston, Massachusetts last November to perform in front of the apartment building where the group got their start in the '70s. The band played a short set on a mobile stage in front of the building at 1325 Commonwealth Ave. where Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Brad Whitford, Tom Hamilton and Joey Kramer lived on the third floor nearly four decades ago.
